2D Futurity and Derby
Two chances to qualify for the finals

1. Futurity-open to any horse which is a foal of 2000 or after, Derby open to any horse which is a foal 1998 or after.
2. To enter futurity, horse must never have competed in any barrel race including open shows, registered shows, rodeos, playdays,showdeos or futurities prior to December 1, 2004. (Exception-Cannot have competed previously in this Futurity.)
3. Owners may enter more than one horse. Owner does not have to ride. Man or woman rider.
4. All barrel races will be held at Jim Norick Coliseum, Oklahoma City, OK.
5. Open to all breeds of registered horses. Original papers must be presented at time of check in.
6. Entries will be mouthed by licensed veterinarian.
7. There will be 2 go rounds, short-go and average in Futurity, Fastest times from the 2 go-rounds will go tot he finals. Your slowest qualifying time will be dropped, Futurity-1st & 2nd go-round will be paid in a 2D format. Pay-off will be progressive and will be 1 second split. Original papers must be shown at time of check-in.
8. Derby entries may be any horse seven (7) years and under. Any breed of registered horses. Derby will be 1 go-round with top 25 back to the short-go. The champions will be determined by the 2 times together. Original papers must be shown at time of check-in.
9. 4D Sweepstakes barrel race will be two go-rounds.
10. No refunds in any case. Payments must accompany nomination. Substitutions-$150 by Nov 1. Same owner-rider.
11. Office charge of 20% of total entry fees per horse for advertisement and 80% of total purse to be distributed.
12. In Futurity 2 run average to be determined by your fastest go-round time and short-go time. This will determine the futurity champion.
13. Owner & rider of each entry must be a 2005 Member of the BFA. Membership must accompany nomination. January 15, 2005- $85.
14. Futurity 4 year old incentive fund- Over $11,000 cash and awards to 4 year olds in 2005 futurity.
