BFA Announces Woody’s Performance Horse Feeds Sponsorship
Barrel Futurities of America is pleased to welcome Woody’s Performance Horse Feeds, Dickinson, North Dakota, as a sponsor at the 2012 BFA World Championships, December 3-8, Oklahoma City, OK.
Alan Woodbury, owner and developer of Woody’s Performance Horse Feeds, is no stranger to speed and performance horses. He owns the royally bred barrel racing mare Dash Ta Vanila who captured the 2012 Fort Worth Stock Show barrel racing title with Nikki Steffes aboard. Likewise, NFR barrel racers Lisa Lockhart and World Champion Marlene McRae are among the elite barrel racers who attribute their horses’ success to Woody’s Performance Horse Feeds. The $1500 purse combined with apparel gift certificates and tote bags generates excitement for this company’s cutting-edge Western styles and fashions. World Champion Lindsay Sears and NFR barrel racers Carlee Pierce and Britany Fleck are Rock and Roll Cowgirls!
Team Steinhoff of “Hotshot” fame is sponsoring the award package for the Rock and Roll Junior Barrel Race. The Steinhoff family acknowledges the importance of the BFA World Championships and its role in encouraging young barrel racers. A Team Steinhoff trophy saddle will be presented to the Rock and Roll 1D Champion, and custom tack awards will be given to the 2D, 3D, and 4D Champions.

The Triple Crown Quebec Barrel Racing, celebrating its 10th anniversary, is a program promoting Quebec breeding in barrel racing events. Three barrel races including 3 events (open, derby and futurity) are held each season with more than $100,000 added money. Barrel racing is the most popular equine sport in Quebec and it is growing every year.
BFA Board Meeting Summary 2012Barrel Futurities of America Board of Directors met January 22 & 23, 2012 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Three term President Charles Brock ceremonially handed over the gavel to new President Jimmy Roper. New directors Vickie Adams and Jolene Montgomery were acknowledged(Jolene was absent due to competitions in Arizona, and Vickie was absent Sunday due to broodmare foaling complications). In attendance were Chris Duke, Louis Fincher, Leslie Willis, Becky Canaday, Tamara Reinhardt, and Cindy Arnold. Chris Duke was elected to serve as Vice President and Terry Leach was appointed Director to serve the remainder of Chris’ term.
